National Insurance Commission (NIC) is an autonomous institution for regulating
and monitoring the insurance sector in Ghana. Its remit includes approving new
insurance products and providers. NIC also has the political mandate to actively
support the development of the insurance sector in Ghana, where microinsurance
is playing an increasingly important role. Ghana's economy is stable, and
demand for insurance products is on the rise as a result. It is expected that
new, innovative (micro)insurance products and providers will appear on the
market over the coming years. In this context, it is important that NIC is able
to check the risk models and pricing structure used for these products, and
issue licenses for products and providers, in order to ensure market stability
and protect consumers. NIC needs a trained actuary with long-standing
experience to help it conduct its work effectively in line with international
standards and carry out licensing and monitoring tasks. </span><span
