[Microinsurancefocus] Invitation to Attend UNDP National Conference on Microinsurance - Dec 10/11th

Dear Colleagues,


The UNDP, as part of its mandate to promote inclusive growth through access
to financial services– including microinsurance, is organizing a National
Conference on the Status of Microinsurance in India, in collaboration with
Academic and Policy Centres- the Centre for Insurance and Risk Management
(CIRM) and Centre for Micro Finance (CMF) at the Institute for Financial
Management and Research (IFMR).  The conference is scheduled on December 10
th and 11th 2009, at New Delhi.


The objective of the conference is to undertake a nuanced stock taking
exercise on the status of microinsurance in India, with a special focus on
states with poorer HDI, where the vulnerability of the population is
higher. We would be delighted to have your participation at this event.
Enclosed with this invitation is a tentative agenda for the two-day event.


The Centre for Insurance and Risk Management and the Centre for Micro
Finance are two of six autonomous research centres at the Institute for
Financial Management and Research (IFMR). CIRM engages in designing
innovative solutions to extend formal risk management solutions for poor
households, while CMF primarily works with microfinance institutions to
rigorously evaluate the impact of their products and services.
