NEWSLETTER / Innovation Flash Issue 3 (May 2009) available

 

The third newsletter from the ILO's Microinsurance Innovation Facility is
now available in English, French and Spanish. In this issue, you'll find
information on the facility's activities -- innovation grants, technical
assistance and research -- as well as news on the sector, publications and
jobs opportunities. In Round 3 of the Innovation Grants, the Facility
received 150 innovation grant applicationsn - almost twice as many as for
round 2. The Facility's Steering Committee approved 18 grants, doubling the
Facility’s portfolio of grantees.

 

RESEARCH PAPER / Booming Insurance Market in India (2008-2011)

 

This RNCOS research report will help the client to analyze the leading-edge
opportunities critical to the success of insurance industry in India. Based
on this analysis, the report gives a future forecast of the market that is
intended as a rough guide to the direction in which the market is likely to
move. Some of the research findings are:  * Total life insurance premium in
India is projected to grow Rs 1,230,000 Crore by 2010-11  /   * Health
insurance is poised to become the second largest business for non-life
insurers after motor insurance in next three years.
