Attached is a survey on social indicators. Could you assist us in the
development of social indicators by completing this survey for micro
insurance programmes. The survey is behind conducted by Josiane Mabopda
Foka. And below she explains what the survey

Dear Madam or Sir,

 

We are currently conducting a study to assess the social performance
generated by the operations of

institutions dealing in micro-insurance.

 

My research not only draws on existing bibliographic references, but on
information provided through

other forms of data collection. This study is being conducted as part of my
thesis under the direction of

Prof. Andrée De Serres at the Department of Social Responsibility and
Environmental Strategy at the

École des Sciences de la gestion (ESG) of the Université du Québec à
Montréal (UQAM). Prof De

Serres is also Director of the Groupe international de recherche en éthique
financière et fiduciaire

(GIREFj).

 

The research focuses on the following issues:

· Which area(s) is/are emphasized: Client targeting? Product adaptation?
Social

capital? Corporate social responsibility?

· Does the social performance of micro-insurance reduce the vulnerability of

inhabitants?

· Is there a relationship between the business model and social performance?

· What are the strengths and weaknesses of each model? Which factors should

be underscored to ensure micro-insurance yields the best social performance?

Your feedback is critical to help improve knowledge in this field. The
results of this study will be

useful to various stakeholders in the micro-insurance section, in view of
reducing poverty and the

vulnerability of low-income populations.

 

We are grateful to your invaluable participation in carrying out this study
and in pursuing our

research.

and identify you and a

respondent to our questionnaire. We will send you an exact wording of any
statement to be released, if

you so request.
