LeapFrog Investments has launched the world's first microinsurance fund. The
fund will invest in insurance and financial services businesses that serve
low-income people in emerging markets. Our mission is profit-with-purpose:
targeting strong private equity returns *and *reaching 25 million people

India is a priority country for LeapFrog, and we are recruiting a country
Managing Director. The MD will be tasked with co-developing and executing
LeapFrog's country strategy and investments in India.   He or she will
collaborate throughout with LeapFrog's small team based in Sydney, Edinburgh
and Johannesburg – seeking synergies with our operations and investments in
both Africa and Asia.

He or she will have:

·         5- 10 years' minimum experience in the private sector insurance
industry and/or private equity in India at a senior level.

·         Extensive experience, credibility, and strong networks in India.

·         Experience of making investments in the insurance industry.

·         Demonstrated  due diligence skills and insurance operational
expertise

·         Demonstrated ability to engage senior management of companies,
preferably with personal experience of playing leadership roles in large or
high-growth companies

·         Demonstrated entrepreneurial and/or intrapreneurial success

·         A high comfort with fast-moving start-up environments

·         A track record of collaboration and collegiality

·         A willingness to travel extensively in and beyond India.

LeapFrog intends to offer a competitive salary and potentially equity
upside. The expected start date is 1 April or 1 May, 2009. Location
flexible, but must be a major city for investment and insurance (e.g.
Mumbai, Bangalore, Delhi).
