On June 29, 2011, the Group sponsored a discussion on impact assessment at the Microinsurance Network's second annual member meeting in Koenigstein, Germany. The following presentations were given: - Ralf Radermacher summarized the current status of microinsurance impact assessment research by reviewing the findings of completed evaluations and discussing currently ongoing studies. - Karlijn Morsink described her study of a typhoon re-housing microinsurance scheme's impact on the vulnerability of low-income Filipinos. - Heidi McGowan presented the Practical Guide's current outline and requested feedback from attendees. There was much discussion on various aspects of impact research, particularly the quality and comparability of the evidence generated by evaluations.
